Short-Term Rental Regulations Study with Eagle County

The Eagle County Commissioners recently heard a presentation from Economic & Planning Systems and RRC Associates regarding current short-term rental data and shared ideas regarding establishing regulations. The two Front Range companies have conducted research in mountain resort areas for years and started work on this study late last Fall with an initial presentation made earlier this year.

Most short-term rentals in the county are located between Vail and Edwards with most of them in Beaver Creek, and short-term rentals account for about 14% of condos and single-family units in unincorporated Eagle County.

The commissioners discussed several regulation options, including licensing, imposing standards and fees, and enforcement. Work on the short-term rental regulation program continues and the commissioners hope to have it in place by this fall.
