The Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge Tourism Alliance used RRC’s services to conduct a statistically valid resident community survey in 2023. Research investigated the tourism sentiment of residents in relation to key issues occurring within the region’s various communities and municipalities. Topics were wide-ranging and diverse, including questions on housing, traffic congestion, quality of life, economy, main streets, climate, and recreation use, among others.
The project’s paper surveys were a success, gathering valuable input from a stratified random sample of residents across 17 communities. This allows the Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge Tourism Alliance and community leaders to feel confident in understanding the tourism sentiment of their region. RRC presented the final results of the project overall as all as compiled individual reports detailing data for each surveyed community.
