Introduction

This policy is effective as of September 24, 2018

RRC Associates (“RRC”) is a privacy-conscious global organization. This means that we are committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who interact with us, whether by submitting information on our website, participating in one of our research surveys, or contributing data to one of our studies. This approach to privacy applies to all personal information received by us from our customers, whether in electronic, paper, or verbal form. It also applies to our websites and how we use the websites to collect information, how we use that information, and the choices that are available to you regarding our use of your personal information.

If you, as a website user, choose to register or submit personal information to this website or other websites that are run by RRC, you agree to the use of such data in accordance with this privacy statement. When we use the term “personal information” we mean information that identifies a particular individual, such as the individual’s name, postal address, email address, and/or telephone number. We also gather other information, such as demographic characteristics like age, education, occupation, income, or gender, which is not personally identifiable.

What Information Do We Collect from You and When?
As a user of our website, you do not have to submit any personal information in order to browse or use the website. We will collect personally identifiable information from you only where such information is specifically and voluntarily provided by you. Such information may consist of, but is not limited to, your name, current job title, mailing address, email address and telephone/fax numbers. To become a Boulder Focus Center consumer panelist, you will be asked to voluntarily provide information about yourself. We will, where necessary, obtain your explicit consent to collect and use such information.

If your business or you as an individual consumer voluntarily participate in one of our surveys, focus groups, or other research projects, you might be asked to provide demographic information such as age, household income, ZIP or Postal code, occupation, education level, or gender. We keep this information secure and use it to enable our clients to understand who is visiting their attraction/destination/resort and why, and what they can do to improve their offerings. We typically do not link that information to other personally identifiable information, such as your email address or phone number. Personally identifiable information is normally asked only for the purpose of entering a sweepstakes and is only used to contact the winners of that sweepstakes.

Cookies and Web Beacons
To ensure that our Web site is well managed and to facilitate improved navigation within the site, we or our service provider(s) may use cookies (small text files stored in a user’s browser), web beacons (electronic images that allow the website to count visitors who have accessed a particular page and to access certain cookies) or similar tracking technologies (collectively, “Tracking Technologies”) to collect aggregate data. Specifically, we use such Tracking Technologies to track information on our systems and identify categories of visitors by items such as IP address, domain, browser type and pages visited. These Tracking Technologies do not collect any additional personal information about you. We do not link the information collected by these Tracking Technologies to your IP address or anything that could be considered personally identifiable information.

Why Do We Need the Information that We Collect from You?
Your personal information is used by RRC for various legitimate business purposes. For example, when you register with the website to gain access to premium content or request future communications about RRC Associates areas of interest, such as specific RRC publications or marketing campaigns, we may use the information you submit to create a personal profile to customize our response to further requests or inquiries. We may also use the information to personalize your website experience. And, when you choose to purchase RRC products and/or subscriptions or to register online for an RRC-hosted event, we will use the personally identifiable information you may submit to process your order or request, and to respond to you. We may also contact you to inquire whether you wish to participate in a survey or other research method on behalf of third party companies or on our own behalf. We will ensure that our marketing activities comply with applicable law and implement procedures to obtain necessary consents before sending you emails containing information about RRC service offerings. You may at any time request that we discontinue sending you such materials.

We sometimes contract with third party email providers like SendGrid and MyEmma to deliver email messages to you. We require all third-party data processors to keep confidential all information that we disclose to them, including person information, and to only use such information for the purpose for which it was disclosed.

RRC may sell, transfer, or otherwise share some or all of its assets in connection with a merger, reorganization, or sale of assets, or in the event of bankruptcy, without your permission. In such an event, personal information may be one of the assets transferred.

We will not share your information with any other party, for any reason, unless otherwise disclosed at the point of collection. If that occurs, you will have the opportunity to refuse to give us consent or to withdraw your consent if previously given.

We may provide personal information to regulatory authorities and law enforcement officials in accordance with applicable law or when we otherwise believe in good faith that the law requires it. There may be instances when we may access or disclose your information to protect or defend the legal rights or property of RRC or their employees and agents, to protect the safety and security of users, and to protect against fraud.
